FAQs:
- Do I have to go to band camp? Yes band camp is required for all Spirit of Sebring Marching Band members. If a student is unable to attend then the student will not be allowed to march in the first half of the show. If you are planning on being in the marching band and can not attend band camp, email Mrs. Paniagua now.
- Is band camp hard?
- It is the hardest fun you'll ever have!
- Can I be in band and be in other activities such as sports?
- Yes you can! We have many students that are soccer players, swimmers, track team members, IB students, ROTC, any anything else you could imagine. We've even had football students! We will work with you and your schedule as long as you are willing to work with us.
Is there a cost for band camp?
- Not for band camp, but yes for the season. If you are a wind player that will be marching your own instrument then your cost will be $200 for the fall season. If you are in guard, percussion or will be using a school horn then your cost will be $260 for the season. There are many different payment plans available.
Anything I can do to prepare?
- Please practice your horn over the summer! You will be playing for 8 hours per day so if you haven't played since May then you have a difficult time. Also please do not spend every day inside in the air condidtioning. Your body will go into shock when we go outside! Hydration needs to happen before camp so drink plenty of water before the first day, and continue to drink through camp. Sounds silly, but please do not drink dairy products the mornings of camp days. You don't want to see that milk again ...
